Inverse Totem

Inverse Totem is an object reflecting the future brought to us – intriguing whilst scary. It is a result of a robotic fabrication workshop held at KU Leuven.

Design process consisted from sketching and model making. This analog process was then shifted into fully digital one. Final proposal is based on parametric design made in Grasshopper.

Each block generated from parametric definition is different. Thus the only efficient manufacturing process is robotic fabrication. Robotic arm with hot wire was used for cutting out 39 elements which were then assembled into the final structure.
